First one's all original, second one is re-wrapped. is it the throw? Does the three point demand that much more than a clamshell? Or is it just the luck of the draw on the auction?

Hmmm. . . that is strange. i think the WMP Original should have been the higher priced of the 2. i own one of each and they are both re wraps, there is now way in hell i think i could get that amount for both of them combined. the cloud badge that i have is a 3 ply and the clam shell i have is a single ply and will look great when i get it all put back together and cleaned. Hmmmm

Paolo, It makes no sense... perhaps timing... unless it be the missing lever, which is replaceable.

Of my two drums below, I prefer the clamshell. Unlike the 3 point, the clams tension from both sides. Fortunately, mine functions flawlessly. (It happens to be the first iteration of the design (1940), which Slingerland saw fit to slightly modify within a year of its introduction.)
