Hi VDF friends,
Allow me to share some pictures of my latest project. Thanks to a forum member, I was able to buy this mid/late sixties 22,16,13,12 Oaklawn set. It took me a while to find the missing parts and get the restoration going. A couple of extra holes had to be plugged and especially the bass drum top section needed a lot of work as it was drilled (molested) for a 70's Premier tom mount system. I decided to go for the typical Camco wood finish instead of the more obvious wrap solution. See it as a tribute to the work of the great Jim Gordon and his iconic Walnut Camco kit. (same finish, same sizes, same shells) The steel hoops are not original and tone-controls are missing. The positive is that the edges are perfect and sound-wise, it's everything you would expect from a 6-ply Jasper Camco kit. I attached some before and after shots. I hope you like the result.
Regards Stef
