Thank you very much gentlemen. It really means a lot coming from this group. You men know your stuff and I feel like I learn something new about vintage drums ever time I visit VDF. I've received a few parts and a ton of advice from the membership as well. No better cheering section than the support members give to each other here.

I love this little Camco kit. We've got to know each other pretty well during our 5 month courtship.

Beautiful Dan, congratulations !That's a very early Camco kit so you're probably looking at 1961-1962.The lugs on the 12" are placed much closer to each other than on "standard" Camco Drums. Also the mount plate is not in the center of the shell. Those are two things you normally see on George Way drums so it's probably a set produced very soon after the take-over in 1961.

Thank you for the information Stedi. I just love learning stuff like this. So this ol' gal may be a few hairs older than me! I've got my fair share of blemishes too.

I do think this is an early Camco. Of course I have no idea what's really original, but looking at the bass drum spur wing screws, I believe those can be seen on some Way bass drums. It was also pointed out to me the placement of the badge on the 12" was an earlier thing.

Really nice work Dan. Very cool wrap color. I guess you got the snare drum all sorted out? I remember (think it was you) a few questions about possible missing parts? Unless I'm thinking about someone else? Either way congrats and enjoy!

Great memory Glenn. Yes I am still looking for three small parts to complete the snare. It is functional without them, but it's enough to drive a person with borderline OCD nuts! I'll probably never find them so I'm looking for suitable replacements.

You're welcome Dan,

Indeed the small wing nut on the bass drum spur bracket and the badge placed opposite from the mount on the 12" are all signs of GW transition. Also the floor tom brackets and the missing "USA" on the badge place your set to very early Camco.
