Very cool-I have the same drum with a non original throw and rims that came with,of all things,a 1989 Tama Rockstar set.Since it's been altered,I can play it-and I do!

Tev - Restore it and continue to play/enjoy it. Those strainers and hoops come up on fleabay often enough that it won't be a long wait. Sweet old drum. Well-worth sinking a few more bucks into it to bring it back to original condition. It'll also increase the re-sale value of the drum. I love my Oaklawn snare. Solid, authoritative, but very warm and fat, woody tone. Excellent instruments. Strictly pro quality.

That's a real dandy! I like the strainer. It looks like it would be real easy to change out the wires.
