Good luck with it. They turn up rarely.

But as a bit of background (or a cautionary tale before you shell out) I just got one on my recently acquired LA COB. Haven't had one of these strainers since about '82 (and that one wasn't in great nick) but had forgotten that if you hit the snare a bit hard (and I am not talking about thumping it here) the snare throw off, er, throws off. This is a major pain and I've already temporarily retired the COB until I can acquire a "working" snare throw.

If you need a workable vintage alternative where you don't need to drill new holes (still expensive but slightly more "gettable") then an older Rogers strainer is a perfect fit. I gather this was the solution of choice at the time (I have one drum I got over 20 years ago with exactly this solution).

Otherwise Dunnett's do a great modern jobbie (which does, however, look modern) with a sliding screw system which should fit any snare with vertical screw holes.

So, does it sound any good? And what's on it at the moment?
