Hey, how can you say that ( mine) Ebony Stain is not sexy???? Eye Ball
They look like Walnut or maybe Stradivaius in the photo.
No, its absolutley not Stravidarius. They are much more redish that this.
When I bought drums I thought it was Walnut. Then I start to look around on other Walnut set, and I find my beeing a little bit darker.. Of course, its very hard to see on pictures- cameras take them a little bit differnet, PC creens show colours diferent, lot is depent on light and so on....
But, still, they were NOT as walnut.
My picture was taken outside, in sunlight. So it can affect. On picures, I took insdie, they are "darker"...

Then, ather a while, I get a pictrue, I think from Dolfan54 , ( hey-where is that picture???)where he show two toms beside each other - one was Ebonystain, and the other one was Walnut. And there was no doubt any more - it was very easy to see that mine was prety close, if not indenticall to Ebony, and not att all as Walnut.
Here is the tread, but pic is dispaierd...

But, how ever, Iam destroying snare thread now... But I still find even ebony VERY SEXY!!!!Yes Sir
P.S. Dolfan, can put upp that pic with those two toms, Ebony/Walnut , again?

And the snare to the left is Stadivarius

My Chanute ebony kit matched Dolfan's in the photo. Might be the thicker glossier laquer on LA Camco finishes and, of course, photo/monitor differences. But, I have seen the light!
Yeah... great and thanks Dolfan.
When I see/sew this picture, and compare with mine drums - there is no doubt - mina are EbonyStain and not Stravidarius / Walnut.
On that pictures, I show above, I have been recently got my set, cleande upp chrome, cleaned upp shells, change heads and so on.... AND, I toke finaly som furniture polish and wax on them , before dry them out. Then I tyokk them out and shoot that picture. It could have with that to do, that they get extra and very "shiny" on that picture?!?!
But as said, it´s hard to see differnes on pictures... I guess there is ,and was, several kits or toms that was called for Walnut , but was acctualy Ebony Stain.
SO - NOW BACK TO SNARES....
Its was there thread starts.... :-)
Love your Ebony stain .If it's a Camco, can there really be a "Bad " color?
