Did you take that out of the box to show, or was it already out of that box ??
To check for steel, use a frige magnet or the likes !!
Not a Sonor guru by any stretch of the imagination ... but I do have some excellent lit on the drums.
Here's the Quotes:
Signature Bronze Snare Drums
The Signature bronze shell snare drums have been developed by Sonor for the most discriminating of drummers.
The shells are made from superb bell bronze which is cast from one piece. This method ensures a perfectly even structure of the shell material. By varying the time of the tempering process the sound characteristics of the drum can be precisely determined.
Due to the high weight and extremely strong flectional resistance of the bronze material there are no undesired frequencies inhibiting the sound.
The extraordinary projection of these snare drums sets new standards in the making of acoustic percussion instruments. A 45 degree angle on both edges of the shell allows perfect head contact and optimum vibration of the drum heads.
Scientific research and in-depth tests by renowned musicians have proved the outstanding qualities of the Signature bronze snare drums.
