So this 12" could be from the 60s? My floor tom is definitely 60s and has clear interior

No, I wasn't saying that. I was merely saying that my statement about serialized badges being put on toms after '62 was incorrect, and that I should have known it was incorrect because I had a 12" Slingerland tom some time back that was stamped JUL 65 that had no badge or vent hole. As has been previously determined by others, I also believe your tom is early 70s.

Sorry for the confusion.

Lynn

Tom, is that the red tiger 12" re-wrapped in a pink sparkle?

No its stamped 1965 inside. It's actually a stage band that precision redrilled for me :)

OK, I stand corrected on that. However, '65 toms had no badges. In pictures badge appears to be 70's black/silver and legs and leg mounts are 70's (officially '68 and up), thus my confusion. Clear maple interior is correct for '65. Quite the kit. What year is the BD?

Also bought legs.

Okay I got an early 1970s 16x16 floor tom(which precision converted to the bass drum...so it's an early 70's and sound freaking amazing) and 22x14 chrome finish bass drum for free. So I used the bass drum lugs/claws/rods on the 16x13bd, the stage band I got for $50 off ebay. It was just the shell, no hardware at all.

So I also had to buy sticks aver 14" hoops. So that solves some of the mystery. It took me 6 months to find. Bid, buy the shells and parts...I only payed for the snare, 12", and the super cheap ft. I should see how much it cost me total after fit and finish. I'm guess maybe $1200-$1500 total for a one in the world of a kind slingy.
