Hey, y'all...

I tried an Earthtone Calf Head on my Gretsch NC 6 x 14 snare. Holy cow. Talk about a vintage sound!

Truly sounds different -- feels better - at least to me.

Not so much an edorsement, as just passing along th info as something that you may consider...

Thanks for the info,...

I'm considering trying Earthtones on my 1930's Leedy.

What snares do you have on the Gretsch?

Earthtone heads are good, but if you want the real thing, buy AMERICAN CALFSKIN from Rob Cook at REBEATS.

They make a huge difference in sound and feel, especially for playing brushes.

I have them as batter heads on my Slingerlands and there is nothing like it.

They're definitely worth the money!

I found the Earthtones rather thick and sometimes inconsistent.

But my experience with them dates from a couple of years ago; maybe they changed.
