Buddy Rich Tom Mount

Loading...

Since you are not looking for an exact BR set-up I was looking at the Universal Percussion catalog and they have Pearl style tom arms that

look like they would work for your application.

Have you tried an aftermarket tom arm?

Unfortunately my stands are at work, so I can't verify until Monday.

Yeah. I have the Pearl mount. I also have the Gibraltar mount. The thing is, I really do want it to be Ludwig specific for this kit. It may not be factory, but I definitely want it to be all Ludwig. i.e. I wouldn't use Gibraltar hoops or some asian lug knockoff. It just wouldn't be right. As for the tom arm...I've got to make it right. I think we can puzzle through a solution. Goodness. We've already come up with several possibilities. I'm going to hold fast and stay the course. If it turns out that we can't work this one out........then I'm going to part with the kit. I make allowances. I opt for the 'most correct' wrap. It's the same company that made the original wrap...so I'm told. It sure looks to be the same. It's gorgeous. The only other concession that I've made on any of my kits (Ludwig, Slingerland, etc) are the bass cymbal arms. While I like the old shell mount cymbal arms, they aren't strong enough. So, I have bought in to the updated ones from Repercussions. They are nice. That's about it. Everything else is as it should be. I even work to ensure the washers and lug screws are original.

mcjnic! I'm cool with that methodology! One thing I can say about vintage drums and looking for the exact part is it can take a long time as you already know.

So in many cases while waiting for the perfect part to show up, I would opt for the making the set or in most cases snare drum playable without any modifications of course.

I know TommyP can back this up, once you find that perfect part, three or four more will show up!

I will double check my hardware tomorrow and then we can see if we can solve this little situation!

I look forward to seeing the complete set!
