Brother and sister: Star and Tama KingBeat kick pedals

Hi,

Must say that I'm really proud to own two vintage kick pedals now:

- a Star 'KingBeat' kick pedal and

- the follow-up model of Tama (also still called 'KingBeat').

(The yellowish colour at the chrome is no rust - there's no rust at

all anywhere at them - but a light reflection.)

Enjoy!

Nice pair! How do they play?

Thanks, Brian.

Indeed, they're not as smooth as my Tama IC single pedal. But they have a strap like my IC 'Flexi glide' (which I play only). That gives me the feeling, that after the beat the pedal comes back faster (more tight contact to the sole of the foot) - if you know what I mean ...

Can't explain it better, but to me chain driven pedals are more 'loose'.

I also prefer those felt beaters in opposite to modern small 'hammers'.
