... And unfortunately your the only guy that shows them ...JS!I highlighted that portion of your reply/post as I will speak to it directly: We are NOT that type of forum! It's that simple! David's concept from day one .. and I have been here in this capacity since then, which was back in 2005 ... was to feature the discussion and exchange of info, pics, media, etc., but not so much the members playing. It's just not what he wanted as he felt there were plenty of other places that could feature that, but very few to none that are set up like the VDF. The membership .. to their credit .. have respected that. Now, that doesn't mean JR can't put up vids of him playing here and there .. as he certainly does! .. nor does it mean that I will automatically DELETE said content .. I don't .. it simply means everyone is pretty much staying within the parameters of David's concept. As to the "traffic" and participation on the VDF: That has been addressed!, and quite recently at that. I will offer this though: Seeing as you are a NEW member, having joined in 2019, you missed the hey-day of the VDF when it was positively crankin' busy ... and that went on for years too! Today, forums per se have kinda fallen out of popularity a tad, and as I have mentioned many times ad nauseam, Facebook is the biggest draw away from the once thriving forums, and for the record, I am not a big FB fan, although it has it's place in the drum world, based entirely on the membership and participation numbers. Anyway ... perhaps this shed a little illumination on both subjects for you!Tommyp

I appreciate you letting me show a few vids every now and then, I know it's not really what you guys do around here. Cool1

I hear you Tommy.

I was part of that recent conversation and I remember your viewpoint on the forum. And I'm good with it! I was encouraging johnnyringo! :D

I can't say I don't get a little frustrated at the lack of participation at times, because this is where I hang my hat and talk drums. But it is what it is, I'm not sure you can do much to bring things back. As you said, the days of forums like this may be passing, as FB takes over the world. I'm not a FBer either.

So I'm good and thanks for what you do here! Cool1

I saw a band of kids playing at the Jersey Shore a few years ago, right on the street in Ortley Beach, and the drummer had a Pearl Export set with a huge cinder block in front of the bass drum. I wanted to tell him there are plenty of other alternatives these days to prevent bass drum creep. And lighter ones too.
