Is there anyone here who has a Ludwig in Bronze Mist Lacquer - would be nice to see some pictures of this unusual and beautiful finish, and does anyone know the exact colour of the bd hoops for this finish?

Wow now that one doesn't ring a bell with me since I have been reading posts out here.
I do remember a Bronze mist Gretsch kit that a gentleman had gotten from his uncle.. I think it was.
Steve Maxwell jumped in with some great comments on the kit and the color.
That might be a direction to try... http://www.maxwelldrums.com/

That was copper mist... Sorry got my alloys and my elements confused.

It would be nice to see a super classic kit, or anything else really in this finish that surely must be one of the absolute rarest.

Looking at the pic, it appears the hoops are B/Mist with Gold inlays. That is a great finish, and I would think the guy that has the Galaxy here may have a B/Mist....I'll have to ask him.

I can't believe it! I had a 4 piece Ludwig set in the 60's. My dad bought it for me, it was bronze mist. it was just like this picture. It was very rare. In fact this is the only other pic or reference to it. I thought I was the only one to have that color (maybe I was . . .) This really brings back memories. It has a very fine sparkle to it, more like a sheen that a true sparkle. More like a copper iridescence. I sold it in high school when I became more interested in orchestral percussion than set drums.
I'm more impressed with the Bronze painted hoops than the Bronze shells. Is this the only example of Ludwig bass hoops in a color other than black? I've never seen a Ludwig, Rogers, or Slingy bass hoop in any factory color except black (on a drum set that is ... marching basses are a different story).
Old post ... but here's a partial Club Date kit I own (12/pioneer/20). Looking for the matching 14" Club Date Floor Tom,
Chris

I've got an orphan (birthdate drum) 12" Club Date shell in this color. I also stripped a pioneer of the same to maple finish for a forum member. It was flaking real bad.
As far as other hoop colors, blue was a choice for Wfl/Ludwig on some blue lacquer drums and also some blue sparkle bass drums.
The other color that was mentioned as copper, Ludwig called Empire Copper Lacquer.
I've been admiring your kit for sometime now Chris!

Hey Mike!
Your BML shell's as clean as mine; normally they flake like crazy. I wonder if I'll ever find the 14 floor tom. I saw a 12/14/20 kit a couple years ago but didn't want to buy it just for the floor; maybe I should have.
Here's the other photo (that I'm now able to load)
