It's all in the details and being intimately familiar with everything. When it comes to Slinerland from the 60's and 70's, I feel comfortable knowing that I can't be fooled!
Here are some pictures of my first-generation #33-F Flush-base cymbal stands. The legs have always been thick aluminum. There's also a very large wing screw, which did change to an aluminum version, but was still large. The wing screws are easily detected!
Another thing many of you may not have picked up on is that the stand in question is a 4-tier stand! I have an identical stand and it's MIJ. Slingerland NEVER issued the #33 in a 4-tier version!
Next, look at the lower section. Slingerland used a beefy attachment to the tube that held the large wing screw. This is no where to be found on the eBay stand!
The tilter was also mentioned. Yes, it's an MIJ, NOT a Slingerland!
