Bonehead alert version 2!

Ok, so I am also working on a 6-lug Gretsch snare....ordered a few parts from Explorers Percussion....dealt with them a couple of times before......the last time had its issues, but I figured to give them the benefit of the doubt......so anway, I've been waiting for the order for almost 2 weeks because of a backordered snap in key holder....apparently you can't get just the retainer clip for the holder you have to get the whole thing.....anyway the stuff comes in today and one of the parts I ordered was a new internal muffler/tone control.......and guess what the BONEHEADS sent! Just the knob for the tone control! 26 bucks for a knob!!!! Well....I'm gettin on the horn with them tomorrow to either get them to send me the WHOLE muffler or a refund.....and this will be the last time I ever deal with them again. Boneheads! These guys are suposed to be drum experts?? You'd think that if the bag had just the knob and it was called a tone control ASSEMBLY that SOMEONE would question it?

Well....I called them today.....got the "hmmmm, don't know how that happened......I have another in stock that is complete. I'll send it out today and send a return tag with it. We'd like the other one back" like they can do anything with that. Upon closer inspection of the knob they sent, it appear to be a used one to boot!

Well, after I get the complete muffler and send them the knob back that will be my last transaction with them. just one too many problems the last couple of times. Shame too, as they are the only ones I can find that stock a Gretsch lightning throw off and butt plate. I might have to buy it from repercussions and pay the premium if I go that route with this snare.

That sux man, I saw a lot of discrepancies in their catalog too. things listed twice and with different prices!! weird layout like they just slapped it together... but you're right, sometimes they are the only place to find something...let us know how the rest of the return goes. I don't want to bash anybody, business is hard enough, but maybe we can get them to pay closer attention to detail and help us all out...

After three more phone calls and FINALLY getting a tracking number, I finally got the correct missing muffler today! Now to put it in......I tell you, I AM NEVER USING EXPLORERS PERCUSSION AGAIN! Biggest bunch of boneheads ever! I called and placed the original order on 3-17-09. Received it on 4-2-09! Although they did email me and tell me one part was on a short backorder. Then I open the order to find the muffler I ordered was just a knob and not the whole unit like I thought. I called and asked, they claim its supposed to be the whole unit.....we'll send one out today with a call tag for the knob. I call on 4-8-09....still no muffler.....oh, we shipped that out last week, should be any time now. So, now I call today and ask for a tracking number because I haven't seen it yet. They give me the tracking number. They have shipped it to my HOME address AFTER they were instructed to ship it to my work address! AND.....this is the best part, they tell me oh, that shipped out the 8th. That was the day I called them the last time to find out where it was! Tracking number shows its out for delivery to my HOME ADDRESS today! So, I leave work a little early to make sure I get it. The part is correct and what i ordered to begin with, but after all of this, its taken almost a month to get all of my original order! NEVER AGAIN!

If anyone on this forum has ever used these guys and has a similar story to share, please do. They will NOT be recommended by me at all to anyone ever!

Looks to me like they made it right. I would do business with them again and id tell em how I do business. I have had a few unhappy customers since i went in business 1976, but i have always did my dead level best to make my customers happy. If they are a good resource and make it right, id call em again if i really needed something. I got a pair of snare hoops for a acrolite today. I bought them on the 22nd got em excatly 21 days later. I was ****ed but thery look so good on my acro. I already finished it this evening. almost lol I have a muffler for it but i decided to put it on my marchin snare, im waiting on wrap for, lol haha WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, !!!!!! @*&%(&$#@@%^*&**% THEN I GAVE GOOD FEEDBACK.

By the way, I payed him instantly like I always do.

drummaker.com called my after 1 st order with them, tellin me that the online shipping calculator was wrong and the shipping was goinng to be $2 more.

I would rather do business with someone more realiable too, but if they are the only ones that have what you need, then do what you have to do LD
