B/O pointy badges in the 80's?

Loading...

Hi,

Would anyone know what year a pointy blue and olive badge with the serial number 2126666 would be?

The chart says the '79 ended with 20xxxxxx, but I had the understanding that the pointy badges weren't being used in the 80's.

Thanks in advance.

Dating these Ludwig drums is like entering the vortex of pain. My guess is this:

The serial number is more reliable than the pointy clue. They could have gotten a box of stamped serial numbers on pointy badges. But, the chances of them getting serial numbers THAT off would be minimal. So, go with the serial number clue over the pointy clue. Also, look at the shells and the hardware to assist in dating the drum.
