Blue label Paiste 602 paperthin set

Six years of 602/Sound Creation price tracking is available as a public database. Quick overview here:

http://black.net.nz/cym2011/pcalc2.pdf

I do special analysis on request, or you can have the raw data as a spreadsheet.

In brief, you only get the highest prices for cymbals in excellent condition with all logos strongly visible. But one would normally expect to pay closer to the average. Prices on eBay are highly variable week to week so I maintain you need a reasonable sample size to get stable estimates. If the cymbal sizes you seek aren't there that's because there weren't enough to get good estimates. In that case I often resort to just giving you all the raw data for a particular model and size.

Given that they are paper thins you might also want to check out a previous analysis I did which may help to isolate that effect. Lots of reading but then it is a complex topic:

Enjoy.

Thanks! Any time you need more details on anything just let me know. I'm always glad when people find it useful.

Another factoid on prices (couldn't get to the site yesterday for some reason)

Steve Maxwell has a 16" blue thin up for $275. Anyway, that's a thin not paper thin. And that's asking not sold. But you can see how it fits in with the data I've presented.

[QUOTE=jegellman;174166]To tdennis: these cymbals do not come up very often at all, I had been looking for a "12 inch blue 602 paperthin" for him for at least four years!!

FWIW:

I just went back and checked the bidding history on the item: apparently there were two other folks who also thought the cymbal was worth at least $500!

Thanks again to all![/QUOTE

I was one of the people that bid 500. on the 12 paper thin.

I have a 22 ride 3x 20 rides a 20 china 18 china 18 crash 16 crash 2 sets of 15" hats one set are Sound edge and 11 splash. I am not sure all of these cymbals together are worth 5,000. I just wanted to see how much someone was willing to pay for that 12'' paper thin.
