Blick's Sparkle-Brite glitter film

Waiting on parts? lol I never heard of that! Just kiddin. How many times did you order parts on this restoration? Seems like every time I order parts I find something else i am gonna need and the parts have already shipped. Sooner or later the job gets finished. When do we get to see it?

From section2

That's the conclusion I ultimately came to. I went with satin flame--which I've since discovered is more fragile than a pearl or sparkle wrap--but I just love the way it looks. And you're right about time and effort: with a busy job and a baby girl, the time I'm investing in this kit is worth more to me than the money I would have saved. If I'd known how fragile the satin flame would be, I might have chosen to go with a sparkle instead, but I do love the finish. I'm just waiting for some parts from drumbuilder.com, and I'll be ready to finish this kit!

Tell me about it!

Let's see... I ordered the vintage repro Ludwig bass drum head, and then when the store called to tell me it was in, I realized I hadn't ordered heads for the toms. So now I'm waiting for them. I also needed new rims and rods for both toms, one hoop for the bass, and vent hole grommets, which I ordered a month ago. They'd be here already were it not for the fact that drumbuilder is sold out of the rods I need for the floor tom... and I still need to source a bass-mounted cymbal arm. And a bass pedal. And a hat stand. Once those are in, I think I'm done. (Famous last words, of course. :))

I'll post pics as soon as everything's put together! The bass and 12" tom are done save for the badges (which I can't put on until the grommets arrive), and I still need to cut the floor tom wrap, glue the wrap on, and clean up the hardware. Once it's all done, you can bet I'll be posting photos. Can't wait to play it!

I bought a killer grommett tool for old kentucky drum on ebay. I have tried a few other gormmett tools, like the one jammin sam has, and the ones we use at my upholstery shop, but the old kentucky drum one works soooo good!
