Blaemire 10x13 CT? Resto

Loading...

Well,......... it's a CT/concert tom now.

If it drives me crazy, I will have to double head it.

But I needed a 13 for the Hal kit and big long green fiberglass tubes with only 1 side drilled are kind of hard to find.

Well not really.....there is that Black CT Blaemire set for sale back east.

Some big holes in this one.

And the obvious old lug holes............Yeah....I know.

Maybe I will get the missing real 13 and a CT 14 this year.

Really for now, all I need is the 14.

So far I have: 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, XX, 15, 16

Oh, I did a real crimped vent with a spacer ring this time.

You did a great save on that one Scott! Nice work as always, brother.

You're getting there! Good luck finding that 14" it isn't going to be easy.

Too many great drums to list here!

Yes, the 14" tom will be very hard to find. Good luck Scott.

Most of my Concert Tom shells have come with Pearl lugs.

Not everyones favorite, I know.

They are kind of nostalgic for me.

I don't mind them.

This 10x13 was drilled for Ludwig small classics.

The hole pattern was too far off to change to a Pearl hole pattern.

I refuse to alter a shells integrity by taking away shell material for appearances.

As it was, I had to move/file 2 holes, 3/16" over to align to proper layout.

Oh those DIY dudes.

I check everything now with my Drum Foundry layout board.

So.....I just put the small classics back on.

I kind of like them.

How about 2 rows of small classics on an aluminum snare shell.

Right Greg? Yeah!

All I had to see was the finishing washers on the inside of the shell to know the job was done right, and with pride!

Believe it or else!

Thanks Mick,

I ran out of matching screws for the assembly and mixed phillips with slotted. 2 odd phillips in pic. Did you notice?

I needed to see it done. You know how it is.

I prefer all of the screws to match.

These Blaemire shells are so thin, that you need screws 1/4" long or shorter.

I used to get the short 8-32 screws at my local OSH, 1 block from my house. OSH was good for small weird parts for building.

But it closed.......bummer.

Sometimes my Home Depot does not carry the short 8-32's.

So I went through my stash.

A MacMaster Carr order needs to be done soon.

Thanks for your kind words.:D
