Black Stain Pearl Export ???

Hey there, yep another Export question. I scoured the webiverse and cannot seem to find out about this kit I'm going to buy tomorrow for <$300.

Pearl Export (...), older than 10 years. Black stain finish. 14", 22", 10", 12", 16".

I'd appreciate it a lot if anyone could give me some insight into it. Pearl Forum was a hassle, otherwise I'd be asking there.

Any ideas, gents?

What do you want to know? They're 1994 or 1995 Export EX drums, stripped of their wrap and stained black. The snare drum looks to have been wrapped.

Thanks for the info. I was confused about whether or not the finish was factory, plus there aren't any tags.

I have never seen a restain job that looked that good. It may be a laminate recover job. It looks very professional in the pictures.

Black is tough to work with, they did a good job but it looks like you`ll be able to feel the grain,...Not a Cabinets job.

They have been rewrapped with Vinyl ... as used by many domestic Hi Fi speaker manufacturers..

Guys, after having checked them out it's laminate. The seller was honest about it when I went to pick them up. Not too much of a let down as it's only a practice kit, but stain would've been a nice touch!
