BLACK MAX STRIKES AGAIN!! Hello All. New to site, have rare pedal and need another Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Howdy everyone, I am Chops and I play the guit-fiddle. Just moved my drummer out from our home in PA to live in Colorado Springs and start our band. Picked up a nice Pearl kit from a buddy whose kid never played it, you all know that story.

Anyway the kit came with the craziest bass pedal, a BLACK MAX!! From what we looked up it seems cool, this belt driven beast that seems to be the rarest pedal in the world, and it just lands in our lap.

Here is our problem tho, we need a left hand double bass, another rare thing in the world.

If anyone has any cool storys or info, lets hear it.

And whoever wants this pedal can start fighting over it now haha but a lefty double bass will easily win the fight.

Keep rocking!guitar2

I think the company that designed the Black Max licensed the cam action sprocket design to DW. Saw one of those 15 or 20 years ago.

Most double pedals out there can be had in left handed or as in the case of the Tama Iron cobra, converted from a right handed to a lefty. In any case The iron Cobra Jr. can be had cheaply in both right and lefts handed used for around 100-125 on Ebay.

Anyway..there must be a reason that the Black Max didn't catch on.Pedal designs if the're good, usually stay around. The Iron Cobra, and the venerable Ludwig speed king are just two that come to mind.
