Black beauty cleaning

Loading...

Hi. got my 1970s Black Beauty today, and instantly started cleaning up. what is the best way to clean up the shell without distroying the black finish? just water and washing up liquid?

also: how did ludwig make the shells black? there are some spots inside the snare where you can actually see that the finish hasn't reached everywhere.

3in1 oil is the best to use on black beauties without destroying the shell......good luck with the drum..........Vinny

Actually, the 3 in one might dissolve the lacquer. I've learned this the hard way from some '20s BBs and Leedy Elites...maybe the modern drums are different, but I'd stick with gentle soap and water.
