black beauty b/o badge rounded corners?

Hello forum .

I have a chance to buy a black beauty b/o badge....but i think the rounded corners make this drum 79 to 84 , my question is ..is this the same brass shell used in the early mid seventies , and are the rounded bages as sought after as the pointed?

Black Beauties were only made from 1977, then discontinued by Selmer from 1979 to 1981 (Ludwig book by Rob Cook) then reintroduced in 1988. IMHO, and Black Beauty is worth what you are willing to pay for it. I love mine, even though it's only a few years old.
