Billy Cobham

Does anyone recognize the brand of drums Billy Cobham was playing in 1968 with the Horace Silver Quintet in Copenhagen? I know the shot is not very clear, but maybe someone already knows.

Thanks

This Italian brand most likely (without the Max Roach added on the front head)

The drums are indeed, Meazzi Hollywood’s ... zenstat’s “most likely” is an absolute! That’s a great clip too! Shows Cobham’s LH traditional grip/chops to excellent advantage! A favorite of mine! Here's the entire drum solo clip for those that might like to see both the drums, and Billy! Thanks for that ID guys. Nice videos, especially the one showing Cobham playing that right handed kit as a lefty with matched grip. His style reminds me of both Art Blakey and Elvin Jones. Very fiery

Nice sounding and looking drums. For a moment I thought there might be a pedal on that floor tom to change tuning, but it seems he was just making use of differing areas of the head to get a change of pitch.

Meazzi Hollywood did make a pedal tuned floor tom so that is a possibility as well.

Again, zenstat is right in there. Billy had the Meazzi tunable floor tom on this set, and it is indeed actuated with a foot pedal like a tympani. Meazzi was WAY ahead of their time! Very innovative drum company in their day!
