I am officially passing on this. I have two other kits in the works and I believe I'm 'at capacity' for the time being. I am working on a 73 Luddy deal right now and this one is stretching me a bit. Hopefully, someone here will take possession of this most excellent deal. I've studied these pics closely and can tell you that 500 is too low a price for all this. Please, again I suggest, think about raising the price a bit. This gear is worth it.

From johnnyz

For Sale. Rogers Powertone dark wood grain wrap 14X24;10X14;12X15:16X18.Ludwig alum shell 5X14 snare and stand; ghost pedal; rogers hihat; 20" old zildjian and 14" zildjian impulse hihats. having trouble getting pics up on this forum. any interest or more detail email/let me know. can't decide whether to separate or sell together. Thinking $500 for all

I'm about to ruffle some feathers, here: Wood grain wrap? Understand that I'm naive regarding some of the "vintage" kits, but why would wood drums be wrapped in wood wrap (sounds like a tongue-twister)? What am I missing? I understand the Rogers mystique, kind of, but, do I dare say, these are ugly? Can someone set me straight (I can feel the tsunami of backlash coming). I'm not getting this. Don't get me wrong, I just want to understand. Thanks.

No there not the prettiest, but i think they're original. I picked them up for a good price, imop. I just got them, and was thinking a quick flip top a Rogers phd, but no takers yet. I had a ludwig octa plus in the same finish in the 70's. it was a 70's thing, that and butcher block. i'm just toying with the idea of taking the wrap off, but have no exp there. anyone know the dirt on 70's rogers wrap?

Ahhh, I remember seeing some butcher block toms on ebay. Wow!! An octaplus kit in wood grain wrap! It must've looked like a lumber yard. (I love those octaplus kits; I have a vintage tee-shirt with a multi-colored vistalite kit on it.) Anyway, the wood grain wrap reminds me of our '71 Ford Country Squire. I wonder if Ludwig and Ford got the wood grain wrap frm the same supplier....hee, hee.

Thanks for the info and good luck with the sale.

Shipping will be costly now adays, but if you are willing to ship by Greyhound bus lines to me in Winnipeg, I think we could complete a deal. I will PM you to discuss the details if you still have the set. Thanks.
