I Did,Back in my day-{80's}- of Heavy Metal playing my rule was if you have a drum on your set play it.The biggest set i had was a Ludwig it had 6 bass drums, on the bass drums i put together 2 14x26" bass drums to make one 28x26 drum, the other two were 28" and 30" they were on the back side of me..My toms set-up was 6,8,10,12,13,14,15,16 single headed toms, also 6.8.10.12.13.14,15.16. double headed toms ,floor toms were 16x16,16x18,18x20.. three were on my right i also had a 18 and 20 on my left side of the set...I only had one snare drum..28 drums total with 17 cymbals...I would say its 50/50 of the drummers of metal played all the drums is their sets..Mikey

Yes, how long did it take to set that monster up? I assume it wasn't mic'd.
It use to take about 20 minutes to set up my 10-piece kit; yours must have taken an hour.
Here's my favorite classic monster kit: Neil Smith's glass-mirrored Premier set when he was touring with Alice Cooper 1972-1974 (wish I had that reach!)
