Beware of virus Last viewed: 16 hours ago

A while ago there was a thread going about jaminsams having a virus. I think a problem may still exist. I was on the site today and right after I exit from his site internet explorer shut down and this fake software popped up. It was called System Care Antivirus. It blocked my actual AVG antivirus software so I was unable to run it. My daughter googled " system care antivirus" on her laptop and she discovered it was a scam basically wanting your credit card info. We ened up following instructions from a site that got rid of it, dont remember the name of it but if you google " system care antivirus" you will see what I mean. Basically you restart your computer in safe mode with networking to fix it.

I dont know if it came from jaminsams or not but it happened like seconds after I left his site. Just wanted to give a heads up!

That's strange Jeff. I got a virus from there yesterday. My software snagged it right away and fed it to the sharks. :) Never had a problem there before but have read others have. First time for everything I guess. Thanks for the heads up too!

You know I haven't gotten any pop ups but my computer has been acting funny and I was just looking at wraps on Jammin Sams recently. Hmmmm

This is not good for his business I'm sure.

I am going to buy some wrap soon but I'm not going back to his website to do it.

That sucks for him and me. :(

Although I do think the red headed girl on his home page is really cute. :D

Please take note that I am not claiming this virus came from jaminsams, it just happened within a minute of closing his site. You can call him, his number is 623-505-7014 and have him send a catalog. I just wanted to point out the virus in general, it might have been from his site but I am not 100% sure. This virus will shut down your internet and your existing virus software and will display a window that looks very much like the security window that comes with your windows program. It wil even scan your computer and come up with a list of malitous threats. Then it will tell you to run the software to remove them. But, you have to purchase it first. Dont do it its fake! THe just want you information. Hope this helps others, thats all.

Thank you!

It doesn't effect my iMac...in case you are worried about what platform this will affect. I've been to his site several times, no problems.

This has been an ongoing complaint by many of our forum members. As an IT professional, I can assure you that Sam's site is NOT infected! I suggest that any of you with suspected malware, or even if you think you DON'T have malware, to download and run the free version of Malwarebytes. It will find many of the trojans that all free and paid antivirus programs can't. Next, download Kaspersky's free TDSSKILLER, which will look for anti-rootkits hidden in the boot sector of your hard drive. I just recently had to use this to eliminate a really nagging virus on a netbook belonging to the daughter of Backbeatkeeper! Also, install and run Ccleaner to get rid of all the junked stuff that builds up over time and really slows the computer down.

There you go, FREE advice to help you with your Windows computer!

Thank you for the "free" advice. Malwarebytes was the program we used, and Ccleaner I use also. But TDSSKILLER is a new one so I will try that.
