Well, it was the problem with the white inside the head.

On my 64' Beverley, when i got it, the bass drum was full of white dust.

For me the best way is to paint a Beverley logo on a new drum head, and remove all the white from the old.

And you will have two drum head, one white one translucide.

Cause i think it's going to be worst, and each time you will play, you will loose paint inside your drum.

Nice looking kit, and an appealing logo. I'd be interested in reproducing it as a vinyl transfer. If you could take a straight on, close up pic of bass head logo, I could use as a template to reproduce as a decal. Might take a while to get cut and prepared, as I've just had a set cut, but if you'd take the time to send me a good, detailed shot, I'll try to get it on my next run. This could take a few months, as I try to do in bulk to keep cost effective, but in the end it'll cost you about $5.00 plus postage, which is probably much cheaper than having custom done. That is a cool kit. The unique Premier style lugs are neat.

If you are up for experimenting ...

Is the Beverley logo on the inside or outside of the head? If it's on the outside, then try to remove the remaining white coating from the inside of the head.

[*]Get some fine sandpaper and scuff up the inside of the head.

[*]Buy some Rustoleum Textured Spray Paint. http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=27

[*]Spray multiple light coats to the inside of the head, letting each coat to completely dry. Try to get as much coverage as possible, but keep the overall number of layers to a minimum.

The combination of the textured paint and the scuffed head should help the paint stick to the plastic head. Be aware that more layers of paint on the head equals a more deeper/muffled sound.

Thank you Wal, Dad and Thorn. Thorn, the head is painted on the inside of the clear plastic. The logo may be on the inside also, then the white. Not sure about the Everplay logo.

Those old Beverley are really good stuff, still not too expensive to find. Perhaps due to the late 70's early 80's Beverley kits.

I'd say just fit a new head & have the Logo re done.. Paint on the inside of the head will eventually "Gunk Up" your bearing edge.

Good point. You could mask off the area that is in contact with the bearing edge.

Of course, this is probably becoming more work than it's worth. :(

Everplay heads were NOT white coated on the inside of the head, so to restore this head would mean you need to remove the white coating.

Correct, only this front logo head for the bass drum. I know because I have removed the head and examined the situation on several occasions. Once I did a touch up to some of the flaked areas using a mix of white and gray Testors paint, but it didn't match up too well.
