My goodness those are beautiful. I absolutely love Blue Badge Beverley drums. I have a set and unless you have ever owned or played any, you have no idea what fantastic sounding drums these are. You did a great job on those. Love that finish !!! Those drums are A work of art !

Extremely impressive, along with the rest of the whole deal. Did you steam the wood or full-on soak it?

No steam, moist or heat used. The sheets were about 2,5 mm thick, so with a 22 inch diameter they could easily be bent just as they were.

I'm planning on using steam, though, in the future (but first I want to finish two current projects, one of which is very special, I will post about it later on). I have the following plan: Take a 3 mm thick sheet of oak, about 60 mm wide. Use steam and a mold to bend it into a 13 inch hoop (or 16 or 24 inch). Make a couple of those hoops. Glue some of those hoops on top of each other to make a drumshell. Use some other hoops as re-rings inside those shells. This way I could make a more or less solid wood drum kit with very thin shells. I'm thinking 24/13/16 my fave configuration and a 14X8 snare (i like 'm fat). This method (which I have never heard about before) should have many advantages over other methods: In case of thin shells: it's stronger than stave. It has far less glue than laminated. it will deform less than completely solid. Yeah, I like the idea, I hope in the future I'll have the time to do it.

Yes that job is stellar. My favorite color as well. And the best badge of any! Even the Gretsch round badge.
