Best way to clean brushed metal wraps?

Greetings,

I just picked up a Mapex QR jazz kit with an 18" bass drum for a great price. It is the "Grey Steel" wrap, which is similar to a typical brushed metal type of finish, but it is a wrap and is pretty smooth to the touch, with just a hint of slight texture. Can you use the standard Novus/Plastix treatment on these, or is something else preferred?

I'm unfamiliar with Mapex drums. Is this finish actual brushed metal, or is it a metal-colored wrap? Big difference in how you're going to clean it.

And being unfamiliar with Mapex, I'm really curious to know if those hex arms would fit Rogers swivo collets.

It's a metal colored wrap with just a slight texture.

I don't have any Rogers stuff, so I'm not sure if those mapex arms would fit. I can measure the hex rods with a caliper if that would help.

Very few drum companies do metal wrap anymore.

I doubt if it is metal.

So I would treat it just like any other plastic wrap.

That`s gonna be like the flame wraps, I have heard good things about scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner. It get's into the grooves/ textures.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Windex on a Microfibre Cloth to clean,,,,, aerosol furniture polish to shine & protect also applied with clean microfiber...

NO abrasives or steel wool etc ... (these will only make contact with the high spots of this textured finish).

Pearl also used similar wrap on their wood/fibreglass sets in the 70's I had a set for a few years..

(Oddball's suggestion of scrubbing bubbles should work too).
