The best kept secret for buying vintage gear has been issed a cease and desist, too bad you could do a nation wide search on CList, with one mouse click, I wonder why the Clist group got up in arms over this, they sold a ton more stuff this way.
Best secret source gone

I read eBay owns 28% of Craigslist and they didn't want them to advertise in the same place - competition???
I read that somewhere on a Forum recently.
Ya - I go there all the time - now I see the [red lettering - where's Craigslist?/ too bad - it was pretty handy to have everything there. I mean what are they thinking? They can't be losing that much business by having CL post ads there. You have to think if that IS the reason - then they have more to worry about than Craislist ads.
The site I use to scour Craig's list is still working fine.....:p
I thought some may find this interesting regarding CL and Jaxed. The 'jaXed people talking about what's going down and there are some replies further down the page......

This is some info copied from the above link......

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! The sheer volume of positive email and comments we have received after posting about the "CEASE AND DESIST UNLAWFUL MISUSE OF CRAIGSLIST" has been phenomenal. We have read each and every comment, email, Facebook, and tweet sent our way.
The whole Craigslist thing is a downer, we know. When it comes down to it, the "Craigslist way" is not compatible with our site. It's not compatible with the internet, really. If you look on just about every Craigslist listing page, and elsewhere on Craigslist, you see the following words:
DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one rule and avoid 99% of scam attempts on craigslist.
Craigslist is about being local. Craigslist wants nothing to do with any sort of nationwide search and they don't want anybody else doing it for them. We really don't think this has anything to do with eBay owning part of Craigslist. It has to do with the idea of the "Craigslist way" of dealing locally.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In our opinion, dealing locally is great for buying baby clothes and finding a date for Friday night, but it's not that great for selling a classic car, a yacht, or a vintage bicycle -- items that might take a special kind of buyer that doesn't exist locally.
Basically, long story short, we are as frustrated as you are! All we can do at this point is continue to build on this site and add more sources - perhaps even obscure sources - so that you can find what you are looking for. And we will.

Keep up the good hard work and leave Craigslist behind. If they do not want to sell nation wide then the people selling products nation wide will find someone that does. If they want to sell baby diapers, then good for them. Rock on Jaxed!

craigs does alot of negative things to their users that other sites don't do, so i'm not surprised. they also allow users to post negative ads about other users. yeah...that's helpful.do a search for craigslist complaints, there's tons of them incl lawsuits.
and i thought i read ebay doesn't have anything to do with craigs anymore.
i also sell stuff out of state to craigs viewers looking outside of their area who find my local ads, so i don't think its a matter of controling local ads only.
and if they actually bothered to monitor the site and take down what they believe to be scammer ads, then there wouldn't be a problem. that's part of the reason the "flagging" system doesn't work. they make the users do their work. do you know of another website that has a flagging system?
further more, other classified search sites still have craigs in their search engines (or however it works) i'm sure they know about it, so why allow everyone else to play but not jaxx? again, that's just what craigs does.
So does anyone care to share how we can now do a nation wide search on clist?
