I got one of these as part of a Gretsch kit that I bought in 88. This was the best feeling and playing hi-hat ever. Mine, which I would still be using now if the foot hadn't broken off, was a magic hat pedal. It literally helped me change the way I played hats. It has a buttery soft feel, fast response, and was rock solid. If I did not have $$ invested in my DW and Yamaha hat stands I would buy this right now. Someone is going to be very happy and no I do not have any affiliation to the seller. I was looking for a Premier Project One snare and happened across this.

Gretsch Nitron Glass New Classic 2010 8/10/12/14/16/22
Yamaha Cherry Wood Recording Custom 1987/2005 8/10/12/13/14/16/22
Ludwig Black Diamond Pearl 1966 5x14 S.S./13/16/22
Gretsch wood finish 1959 5x14/13/16/22
Slingerland Radio King Capri Pearl 5x14 Radio King
Gretsch Silver Sparkle Catalina Club Bop 2008 18/14/12/10/5x14

very very true.- and Bravo! i have used one and it is a gem.--i will take it a little further ,though. it isn't the only older gem out there. there is a cultural tendency to assume that new is better and often we are sold a bill of goods. lots of marketing and all too often style trumps substance.hi-hat stands are like tires. as soon as you can come up with a new tread pattern that looks functional and agressive ,a bunch of simpletons will cough up 250.00 bucks for one. when was the last time in 40 years, that a high end radial tire did not perform well? i've driven myriads of them since 1970 and I never had a crappy brand. i own about 30 hi-hats, made prior to 1980 of the following brands: Slingerland,Sonor,Premier,Olympic,Trixon,Tromsa,Tacton,Ludwig,Rogers,Ajax. Every now and then I take one , break it down, grease and redampen it,repair damaged threads if necessary, feet if necessary and tighten rivet joints, if necessary and polish the chrome----a good general recondition. They all come out working like a Swiss Watch and a credit to their designer's ingenuity and skill. I wouldn't trade any of them for any of the 25 lb.modern Rube Goldberg contraptions out there. The best drummers of the latter half of the 20th century were playing on stands that you now regularily see in the garbage. what does that tell you about them and about modern drummers?

Totally agree with calfskin and the rest of you guys- there is a lot of marketing hype to promote the latest stand and it ain't gonna make you a better player. I'm a Premier nut and all my hardware is Trilok- including my practice set up. The 252 kick drum pedal has also served me proud and matches the hi hat motion and response beautifully. Trilok stands literally changed the way that hardware operated, big wing nuts, tank like build quality but still a reasonable weight and that hi - hat- with simple clean set up and no fuss response, rock solid- sheer magic ( that's why I've got two of 'em)- great post from drummingbulldog

never have had one or played one. Meazzi is not very common in Canada. Its not a huge market here ( 1/10th the size of the U.S.). Sometimes an importer will cover both( Direct Music comes to mind here) but sometimes it is up to a local importer/distributor to pick up on something and the sales potential has to be pretty good. its possible Meazzi was never distributed here. we did get ASBA , I've seen some Tamburo stuff, we got Roxy(Tromsa)-----I don't think Odery is here but odds and ends of all kinds of brands show up ,mostly as private imports or as part of luggage or sold by a visiting band.
