My right hand has felt better everyday since my surgery two weeks ago. I am using it for most every day things just not at full strength yet.

Tomorrow I will go in for my left hand. I can't wait for all of this to be complete and be back to full strength in both hands so I can get back to work on all kinds of things in my life!

Hey, Eric. Good to see this kit progressing - I've actually got a couple of large kits in the works, and some Cortex removal in my future, too. Hope you can get this project moving forward again soon!

I stripped a 26x16 drum that was wearing cortex. I used a industrial heat gun, and yes you can burn the shop down it you don`t pay attention! They make adhesive remover that works pretty good. Wear eye protection and gloves and don`t breath the fumes. It is some heavy duty stull. I don`t recall the brand name , but I bought it at Ace hardware.

Getting back to my Bonham project this last week. Got the glue off the bass drum and started plugging holes last night. Needs some more sanding. Plug cutters are a mans best friend for this type of thing. Special thanks to that 60's club date "donor shell" that keeps on providing new life for other projects to keep living!

Are you plugging the holes and planning on re-drilling them later once the drum is wrapped? Or will they just be covered with the new wrap and forgotten?

I'm also curious about the donor shell you use. Have you used it to patch something as big as a center tom mount? I figure if you use a patch that big it needs to be the same diameter shell so it follows the contour of the drum it's being moved to. Is that something you've run into at any point?
