What is the best way to restore vintage ludwig bearing edges. Do you sand them? Do you wax them with furniture wax? What?

I am guessing all the damage is on the bottom and it looks like a beaver has been at it. A lot of good drums suffered immensely during the 60s and 70s craze with that single headed concert tom, wet cardboard sounding, easy to mic on stage hysteria.

Depending on the severity of the chewing, you may get by with some simple fill and sand, or you may have to get someone who is qualified to level the edge ever so slightly, removing as little material as possible, then recut to a proper profile, again removing as little material as possible. And the drums will be instantly worth half as much as before, but will probably sound better.
