Bearing Edges !!

Loading...

My dream drums, early 80's Piano Black stopsign badge Gretcsh CANNONS, need a good sharpening (I'm a tuning freak). There is nobody in Spokane that can do this, or even knows who to talk to about it.

Who will do it, and how much does it cost? Are there ways to do it my self properly, without screwing them up?

I would not recommend doing it yourself without the knowledge and experience. I would also not recommend re-cutting the edges unless it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!! But, if you MUST, there are a lot of small drum companies that offer bearing edge services that you can ship your drums to. It will run you a couple hundred bucks + shipping in most cases. If you remove all the hardware, the box will lighter (& cheaper) and there will less of a chance damaging the insides of the shells during shipping.

Here are a few links of companies:

http://www.mapleworksdrums.com/ (he did a great job for me)

Hope that helps...
