Bearing Edges...

Loading...

So,

I'm getting ready to install some new re-rings in some old drum shells. When I get done, I'm going to ship them to Precision drum co for new edges to be cut.

Here's the question: Do I need to sand the old edges flat before I install the new rings?

Thanks guys in advance...

The first thing they will do is level the edge, you don't have to. It's all part of the job. Just get the rings as flush as you can and let them worry about leveling them. They do excellent work at Precision.

Too many great drums to list here!

Be sure to specify what type of edge you want put on the drums. Precision does good work but I've seen some places that that just put dual 45's on everything that they re-cut.
