bearing edges

Loading...

I'm gathering opinions as to whether or not I should spend the equivalent of US$280 on getting new edges cut on five Fullerton shells. This includes an 8 & 10 which now have bottom heads but no real edges. Also, the floor tom doesn't tune as well as I'd like. Lot's of money though. I am not in the USA. Thanks for your time.

my opinion is that you get a few more estimates. I just had bearing edges done on 13", 16", and 18" tom and floor toms...top and bottom...fiberglass shells, and it cost US$65.00. I know another guy who will do it for US$30.00 a drum. You may want to try some woodworkers in your area as well. Bearing edges are not that difficult to do. It's simple router work for a descent craftsmen. Hope this helps.

Cheers
