bass riser?

So I need about an inch of height underneath the batter side of my Slingy bass.

To get my Iron Cobra Jr. to hit dead center I have to shorten the beater by so much that I'm not getting a good "swing" at it.

I looked at a Gibralter riser, but it raises the drum by two inches, and I don't need that much.

Is there another product that is adjustable, or will I have to build something?

Thanks !

I'd just custom build something, but then...that's just me, I do this sorta thing. What color? Is it for the blue sparkle? 20 or 22? I have both size drums, so I could build you you one...maybe..if I get off my lazy buttocks....

Thanks man, I think something as simple as a cutout from a cooler and covered in fabric will do the trick.

I dunno, just the first thing that came to mind.

The Gibraltar riser is height adjustable UP to 2".....you may want to check one out in person before dismissing it completely....;)

See, that makes a lot more sense to me.... the two places I viewed them online said nothing about them being adjustable, but that just didn't seem right. I'll have to travel a bit to see one in person, but it will be worth it to make the decision.

Thanks Ludwig-dude !!

There are two different types, an adjustable with slots or a solid 2".

Mapex has a version too but also isn't height adjustable.

When I first tried mine, the pedal was held away a little and the beater wouldn't reach the bass head, stopping like a 1/4" short! The pedal wouldn't clamp on close enough in. It's gonna take some playing with to get it right.

Getting the beater closer to the head is a challenge. I used an Axis "Sonic Hammer" beater that is adjustable front to back. Some guys bend a beater shaft to get it in the right spot.

I can tell you it will work with a "camco" style pedal....so DW, Iron Cobra, etc. will work. It will NOT work with a Speed King or Ghost. Been there done that. The footboards just do not clear the riser correctly. The footboards hit the riser before the beater even comes close to the head! Eye Ball
