So Im used to a 22" bass drum but I see so many more 20" bass drums for sale. Does the 20" really lack the oompf of a 22"?

Its all in the head choice and how you tune it.......an 18" can have plenty of "oomf" too.....think Roy Haynes, Elvin Jones, Frank Beard......they all used 18" bass drums, but the sound was huge. Bigger is not always better ;D
