Badgeless Snare Drum

Loading...

I wondered if anyone could help me identify a snare drum I picked up somewhere along the way between 1974 & 1977. I am posting here because I'm sure it must be Japanese. The lugs and rims look like the Star on the hardware pages on this site but the strainer and butt side are different and there is no badge. No markings that I could detect inside the shell either.

As you'll see in the pics the drum is pretty beaten up but I think I can clean it up.

Shell Material = Wood (Don't know what kind)

Finish = Red Sparkle

Badge = none

Dimensions = 5" x 14"

Interior Finish = Natural

Hardware configuration = 6 lugs

I'm thinking of using it for "restoration practice" but if it turns out to be some sort of heirloom I'd like to know before I donate it to a local school or something.

Pics are here.

Thanks,

Dean

Nice lil 6 lugger and yes, its Japanese all the way. Could be one of dozens of lines back then. It,s not expensive at all and would make a good drum to practice on.

Hit like you mean it!!

Thanks for taking a look Wayne.

I have a Ludwig kit that needs a little cleanup so I figured I could try first on something that wouldn't hurt too much if I made mistakes.
