Bad Hardware Day !!

Had a tough two days with "Slingerland" hardware.

By description and by photos, all appeared legit.

Two out of three sixties bass t-rod and claws now appear to be fugazis.

Thirty Slingerland t-rods are either Gibraltar or Cannon

Two COS Sticksavers are MIT copies

And the only question I really have is about twenty mystery bass lugs

.

As opposed to any Slingerland 50s, 60s, or 70s lugs I have seen.....these are lighter, more thin-walled, have a little different shape on the insert end, and the springs are very light weight.

They also have the number 201 stamped inside each one.

And, a mounting screw from a true Slingy lug will not screw into a mystery lug mounting foot.

Are these repros, or Music Yo Slingy from the eighties ?.... I'm not familiar with either.

Pic 1.... the 201 stamped inside

Pic 2.... the real lug on top, mystery lug on bottom

Pic 3.... the slightly flared insert end on a real lug

Pic 4.... the more rounded insert end of the mystery lug

Pic 5.... the mystery spring on the left, and a real lug spring on the right

The whole lot of parts equals $130 ........ the lugs were $45 or so.....

Anybody absolutely certain about what kind of lugs these are?

Either knock-offs, or Music Yo Slingerland ?

No guesses or speculations please, I need to know for sure before I contact the seller.

Thanks

Kevin

Hey Kev,Got your email. In photo #2 like you said the top lug is a lug from the 70s' on back..The bottom lug is a M.I.J. 1980's lug..Why slingerland screws will not fit in the 80's lug[[ M.I.J.]] is it's metric 6 mm screws would have been phillip's head screws, also the springs are a give away too...Mikey...P.S. if you need real 1970's slingerland bass drum lug's i have them...
