At last ... Premier Mahogany Duroplastic Royal Ace Originally Sold With My Kit

Loading...

A couple of days ago, I was able to acquire the Royal Ace snare that was originally sold with my Mahogany Duroplastic kit.

These are pictures of the snare before cleaning. I've since done an in-depth cleaning and it turned out great. I'll post those pictures later.

That's a beautiful kit and the snare finishes it off perfectly. Look forward to seeing pictures of the whole kit.... some Lokfast hardware would be a great addition. They are wonderfully elegant stands.

Thanks. I've found that people either completely hate or love the Mahogany Duroplastic wrap. I love it, because it's subtle yet classy.

I have an Olympic snare stand and a Premier cymbal stand. Crash on the stand and the ride can be mounted off the bass drum cymbal arm.

Guys, please educate me:

Is this called mahogony duroplastic because the wrap kind of looks like mahogony (which I think it doesn't)?

Or are it mahogony shells?

In that case, why does the inside of the snare look like birch?

I'm puzzled.

Very good question.

It's called "Mahogany" because it's supposed to look like mahogany according to Premier. Duroplastic is the type of wrap.

Premier shells can be multiply birch with beech re-rings or multiply mahogany. This depends on the year of the drum too.
