Price could be all over the place due to rarity?

I'd pay 500-600 but the guy with the matching set seeking the drum might pay double that......First trans badge gold sparkle Downbeat I've seen.

It took a while but this baby is on the way! I can't wait. It's all original and very clean.

I have the "matching" set in late 60s Gold Sparkle, in more sizes and configurations than is polite to mention. OK, I will anyway.

18/20/22 bass drums, 12 & 13 toms, 14 & 16 floor toms, and another matching Super Classic snare. I haven't yet set up everything as a monster kit and probably never will, but I like these configurations:

The Jazzaire*: 18/12/14

The Downbeat: 20/12/14

The Super Classic: 22/13/16

The Hollywood: 22/12/13/16

The North Hollywood**: 22/12/13/14/16

I like Gold Sparkle Ludwigs.

*I can't say Jazzette, she's a 14x18, but oh so lovely nonetheless.

** Forgive my artistic license

18-12-14-and that Downbeat snare will make a killer drum set. Several other configurations from that mother load will also be very nice.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I have that drum's brother from 1962. The downbeat snares are really great.

I had this exact snare drum in blue sparkle. I wish I had kept it as it really sounded fantastic. Your going to love it!

Hey all, I got the drum yesterday and spent hours last night playing, it sounds amazing! I was shocked at how great it sounded out of the gate. It arrived tuned up properly at a medium pitch and I didn't touch the tuning, I want to just play the drum as much as possible before touching it.

It's in beautiful shape, mint actually. Everything is original I believe except for the skins. The wrap is bright and looks new. No real blemishes anywhere. I'll take some pics and post them this weekend.

Hi all,

Here are some clean high resolution photos. This drum is just beautiful, played her again for hours last night, still haven't touched the tuning.

It's beauty alright. I love 13" snares. Also appreciate a good finish obsession - I went from wood, to WMP, to silver sparkle and now back to wood again. Gold sparkle was always top-of-the-list...
