Apple Cider Vinegar??

I have been having great luck with a Dawn soak and than a soak in Cleaning Vinegar. Into the tumbler and hand polish. Dawn get the grime buildup and Vinegar the rust.

I have been using dollar store white vinegar for some time. Takes All the rust off.

White vinegar works for me as well. Cider would add some better scent.

Not good for nickel over pot metal lugs such as early Slingerland beavertails.

ok....update on apple cider vinegar. When you take the nuts and bolts out the next day after 10-12 hours of soaking and occasional shaking of container. you will be amazed. BUT very important lesson learned. when you rinse off the cider vinegar, you HAVE to dry immediately and add a light coat of oil, of they will rust within ten minutes. it was crazy.....so works great, just have to rinse, dry and oil....other than that....very impressed....saved so much time.
