If it was closer to me I'd keep a few and orphan the rest...

Would make a good touring kit...but not worth it if I have to pay for shipping. Thanks for sharing.

With this posting - it is only a matter of time before somebody wises up and snags those up. The challenge is this: That difference between a nice piece of that finish and a crappy one is scratching on the wrap. Of course we can not tell the condition without seeing these in person (or some great pics combined with a transparent seller). If these have few scratches, this would be a nice score.

Knowledge of this kit would help (in this thread) in terms of ply build, quality of hardware, and how these hold up in time, etc.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I’m surprised they are still for sale, they have been there for a month. I keep thinking about getting them but I have too many drums now, they would never get played.

Thank you!

WOW! Those are far too cool! Get 'em Jeff! Get 'em! If I was closer, I would in a heart beat.

Vintage drum set - $250 (Iowa City)

This is a vintage Apollo drum set from the 1960's. It has a blue satin swirl finish (like an old 3d baseball card). Its really cool. Apollo drums were an inexpensive Japanese drum company but this would have been their high end set at the time. I teach drum lessons and used this as my drum set for years simply because I like it a lot. Now I need the space, so some drums have to go. There is some rust and scratches as you might expect on a drum set this old but everything is there and sounds good. The bass is 20", high tom is 13", snare is 14" and there are two 16" floor toms. This is just for the drums, no hardware. Call xxx-xxx-xxxx if interested or have questions.

Now, now dont tempt me here. I do want them but geeez I need to stop buying drums for a while, spending too much latley. And I dont know what I would do with them. I have two apollo kits and one Rogers waiting for restoration. Besides that I even have a vintage pump organ now. Actually its circa 1890.

Thank you!

Jeff & Jim;

I really can't blame ya... I know the 'where will I put these' problem all too well. And, you've both found great deals recently... Jeff's new organ transplant and Jim's Yammie's...

However, Jeff; I just finished fixing up a Legend kit and have an early 70's Gretsch, mid 60's Ludwig, late 80's Ludwig Rocker, early CB-700's (these are for selling to some kid cheap when finished), another POS kit I just finished and have up for sale... Oh yeah, and a mid 70's Ludwig kit that's kind of a mess... think it will be a donor kit for ANOTHER early 70's Ludwig kit that's in the queue... And then, there's the Amateur Radio stuff, since I restore and use old tube type transmitters and receivers... a wife, three grown daughters and grand kids... oh yeah, and we're still remodeling... and I just told my 88 year old mom that she shouldn't drive any longer, so I'm her transportation now. Beat that! heh heh heh

Now, one of you two, go get those Apollo's! Since they've been on C/L for a month I'm sure the price can be negotiated.
