Anyone still planning on going to the Chicago Drum Show? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

According to Rob Cook's website, the show is still on. The Odeum Expo Center (the venue) has currently cancelled all events through May 1. The Show is May 15-16.

Things may change of course, but as of now, it's show as normal.

I'd like to still go (I'm trying to live my normal life as much as possible). Anyone else?

I'm planning on being there, at this time............I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's not canceled.

I'd be surprised if that show would still go on.

Here in NYC, it seems like every venue I've seen has cancelled everything up until July or thereabouts. But honestly, the Corona problem looks to be huge here. The governor just locked us in our homes, so I don't foresee life going back to any semblance of normalcy until mid summer, and truly, I hope and pray I'm wrong!

How is the problem in Chicago anyway?

Fortunately, our lockdown won't be to drastic. You can still go for a jog, but not in a group of 5, or shoot hoops by yourself, but not a full court game with 10 guys and no gatherings in the park etc. New Yorkers have pretty much quarantined themselves, and the rich have skipped town. Manhattan is an eery ghost town. Our shelves are pretty much full, except for toilet paper, so besides some dirty hynies, we should be ok.

But with almost all major league sports cancelled, my guess is a drum show is a no-go...I hope all is well Down Under!

Self imposed isolation down here but.. small business owners are doing it tough already.. Music venues have cancelled most artists due to size restrictions on crowds.. Max 100 people at gatherings (min 4 square metres per head). Venues have spaced out tables & seating accordingly..

Food in supermarkets is finally beginning to re stock after big increases in restock staff numbers and many of the supply chain after hour delivery curfews being lifted.

Both national football codes have started their comps but are playing in empty arenas... of course this will come to an end when a player or official test's positive..

Government offers some reassurance that it has a handle on control...but then 2600 passengers off a cruise ship are allowed to disembark in Sydney and infiltrate the community... 2 days later the virus has been detected amongst some of those passengers & crew.. So on it goes..

Cheers To all

John

Everything is closing here too bars, restaurants, schools, stores, malls, lots of people out of work, fortunately I'm still working for now, 500,000 people applied for unemployment insurance yesterday, A lot of people aren't getting the social distancing thing, mostly younger people, it's very annoying

Get the young people on not distancing themselves.... just heard that the state government has been forced to close down our Bondi beach, (equal to closing off Venice Beach & Santa Monica).. after a densely populated day there yesterday..

Cheers

I'm just grateful that all of our celebrities and sports stars have been able to get the C-19 test so early on in the crisis. What would we do without them ;-)

I'd love to go to the show one of these years... I though I'd be able to do it easily in retirement :-(
