Anyone seen these lugs before? The snare is for sale online and has me intrigued.

No clue but that is interesting looking.. the lugs look like they were made for a drum with a bead around the middle... long inserts and are the tension rod holes webed?

Not a Guru... just interested..

Here in Germany there is a specialist on very old vintage drums. You can find him, Fritz, here:

His e-mail: steger@drummermagazin.de

All the best!

Hey B.C. I was 'watching' that particular drum as well. Did you get it? If so would you post pics of the "Stradavarius" badge/sticker please...

I was intrigued too...

Thanks for the information guys.

Tony, I didn't end up bidding on it. I was curious because I have a Stradivarius snare and bass drum which I'm keen to find more information on. I posted a thread a couple weeks back about them and the consensus was they were possibly connected to Premier.

The lugs on the snare for sale are different to mine, I thought I'd see if it'd provide any more clues to the history of Stradivarius drums.

Here's a pic of the badge on my snare.

It's a Dandy (Australian) drum brand made possibly in early 50s to early 60s,

Shell could possibly be Rose Adler or QLD(Queensland) maple/camphor Laurel.Fittings either Premier or there own fittings EXTREMELY RARE&SCARCE drum even here in "Oz" !.
