Would love to see some setups just for the fun of it. Your kit or someone else's.
Anyone Playing Out/Doing Any Live Work?
That would be nice to see and encouraging. I'm not even playing in these days.
I am actually! Had a decent holiday gig schedule with the Sinatra Show despite COVID. Also did a TV spot for one of the cable systems in CT. This was a LIVE performance which was recorded so titles and intro/exit edits could be put in, etc. Did this the 1st week of December and it’s being mixed now. The floor producer sent me a couple stills as he is a drummer!, and was knocked out by my 1972 Fibes COF set, both in sound and how they look. I’ll attach a couple pics from that performance as well as a pic of the set itself that I took in another venue. These are 1972 Fibes COF in … 14X20 .. 8X12 .. 16X16 .. and 5X14 690 COF snare drum with the prototype .. pre SFT .. throw/butt. The snare drum is 1967/68, and one of the first 10 lug models built prior to the SFT690 series that became their flagship model. It’s my MAIN snare drum, it plays/sounds that good! Hope you might enjoy!

So nice, thanks TommyP! Drum kit looking super, definitely worthy of ol Blue Eyes.
Cool, Tommy!
I have not been playing out OR in. I have reprioritized my time for all the things I couldn't get done when I was playing...working on the house...family stuff...catching up on all the tv series...you know...important stuff! heheh

That looks like a fun gig, TommyP. On a much smaller scale, I’ve played a couple of intimate outdoor gigs and it’s been fun to just play out live. The first featured a ’71 Ludwig Downbeat kit (with ’71 402 Supra and matching 16” floor tom) and the second, a Rogers Cleveland Headliner.

THANKS for the nice words Larry! .. and .. I gotta agree. Certainly 'Ol Blue Eyes worthy indeed!😎
O-Lugs!
I hear you on that! I've been playing pretty much without a break for the past 53 years! Actually, 2022 is the 53rd year. I mean seriously ... WHERE did that go??!! Now, working with this show, it's pretty much all seasonal .. meaning .. busy from June to December. Anything in the dreaded winter months ( Jan through March ) is pretty rare. THANKS for commenting!😎
gwm!
GREAT that you are out playing!, and especially so as we are all still mired in this freaking pandemic, soon to become an endemic it looks like, which is progress! That said, BEAUTIFUL sets of drums, both of 'em! I only WISH we had your climate/temps though! THANKS for commenting! 😎

Yes! My new jazz combo had our maiden voyage tonight, playing at a popular nearby pub. Here are my Yamaha Stage Custom Hip drums on the tiny stage before we played. The gig went well, was fun, was well-received, we got paid and ate a delicious dinner that was included in the deal. A great night!

Okay, okay. Not vintage drums. My only remaining vintage drums are my 80’s Yamaha and RIMS Purecussion Headset (okay, maybe not real drums).
I’ve been playing pretty steadily lately, even with a lot of local venues deciding to cancel gigs, due to the surge in cases of a particular virus. I did a 7 week run of a musical, in which I used my 1970 Downbeat. Here’s a pic of her, down in the pit:
EDIT: Hmm…unable to upload pic.
