Anyone know what brand this kit is?

Loading...

I just picked up this neat little kit on a trade, but I am not quite sure what it is.

At some point it had an oval badge that was tacked on.

It has Luan shells with nice re-rings, stick savers hoops on the toms; die cast hoops on the snare (8 lugs); wooden bass hoops with nice t-rod handles. The chrome is excellent and the kit has been well taken care of. The wrap does bunch up a little of near a couple of the bass lugs, but isn't too bad.

The bass has probably been doctored I am guessing with additional re-rings in the center as well as pieces of wood where the spurs go through for extra support.

The kit sounds great - warm and punchy.

Does anyone know what it is? When it would have been made?

Realistic price I can flip it for?

Thanks!

To me it looks like it was made by Pearl. I got one acouple months ago that looks the same.

I don't believe the bass has been doctored at all. They had rings in the center and also reinforcments in the spur area.

As far as value....I got mine (with 2x 16" floor toms) for two drum shells and an old (not vintage, just old) ride. I wouldn't pay over $200 for a kit like this, in this finish....but that's me. Others may.

They are nice practice kits to slam around and not worry about though!

Don't you guys just love little red sparkle kits?

I know I do.

Looks just like drums should.

Not bad!

Looks like an aftermarket-homemade job on the boom tom holder. Also, the tom looks to be upside down possibly. Usually the bracket is closer to the reso side of the drum.

This kit could have had about 50 different oval badges on it.

Thanks everyone. It is a neat little kit.

I am not sure about the tom holder but it looks like it would be a newer design than the rest of the kit. There are not any extra holes that I can see, but it is possible they may be hidden under one of the 2 center re-rings if the rings were added later.

I am guessing it is mid-late 60's because of the t-handles, but those could have been switched at some point.
