anyone know about Dandy drums? Last viewed: 15 minutes ago

Hi all,

I'm considering buying what's described as a 1950's "dandy" brand drum kit (never heard of them either). Says it originally was supplied with Premier hardware which wasn't any good and isn't included with the kit. I'm guessing these were a low quality type kit? Any info would be appreciated.

I would agree and ask to see the interiors. The wood will tell the tale and solve the mystery.

Also, do they look like another drum companies lugs? If so it is probably a copy set.

Hey mate...

Dandy Drums or Dandy by Drouyn and Drouyn as it is formaly known were made in Spring Hill Brisbane jsut after WW2. I beleive that the lugs of these drums are actaully made from melted down amunition shells from after the war. I myself have an original dandy drum kit from the 50's. It is a jazz 4 peice that i am restoring. it may be similar to the one you sonsidering purchasing.
